Food and drink packaging has many jobs to do: from catching our eye to keeping the contents safe. The packaging choices made by manufacturers have far-reaching impacts on the item’s production and transport costs, as well as on the environment.

In this two part activity, students examine the packaging for some common food and drink items, consider the design criteria for their packaging, and investigate whether they could be improved.
