Waste Week 2025
Waste Week is back from 3–9 March 2025, and this year, we’re helping schools take action on food waste!
In England, new food waste collection rules will come into effect on 31 March 2025, requiring schools to separate food waste from general waste. But food waste is a global issue—understanding how to reduce, manage, and recycle food waste is essential for all schools.
This campaign provides everything you need to reduce food waste, improve recycling, and prepare for future waste management changes—whether in England, the wider UK, or internationally.
Why get involved?
- Prepare for change – If your school is in England, get ready for the new food waste collection law. If not, learn best practices that can help your school reduce food waste and improve sustainability.
- Engage students – Help young people understand food waste, its impact on the environment, and what they can do to help.
- Make a difference – Reduce waste, save resources, and contribute to a more sustainable planet.
