The Smart Energy Challenge lesson plans for 4-11s can be divided into bite-size quick activities, used to fill a longer period or extracted as homework tasks. They also support curriculum learning, with links to English, Maths, Science, PSHE, Social Studies, Technologies, and The World Around Us.

Ages 11-14

 Our smart meters activities bring a real-life element to English, Maths and Science lessons, and link to the following curriculum learning objectives:

• English: finding and using information; understanding and evaluating; reading increasingly challenging texts; writing for a wide range of audiences; speaking in structured discussions.
• Maths: working mathematically; using the four operations; expressing one quantity as a fraction of another; using ratio notation; solving problems involving percentage change; constructing appropriate tables and graphs.
• Science and Technologies: working scientifically; domestic fuel bills, fuel use and costs; topical science; energy sources and sustainability; technological developments; measures to improve the environment.
