An exciting competition from the International Atomic Energy Agency

Emily

To foster the younger generation’s interest in nuclear science and technology, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is holding an international student competition held in conjunction with the Third International Conference on Human Resource Development for Nuclear Power Programmes. All students (aged 14-18 and currently enrolled in secondary schools) are invited to present a project that promotes discussion and raises awareness on the current or future impacts and applications of nuclear science and technology in their lives.

Suggestions for projects include, but are not limited to:

  • A teaching plan to educate peers on the impacts of nuclear technology;
  • A booth at a science fair addressing the applications of nuclear science and technology;
  • Interviews of individuals working at a local nuclear power plant or research reactor about their careers;
  • An interactive outreach or social media campaign to educate members of your community about the impacts of nuclear technology;
  • An innovative demonstration of the impact of cooperation between the IAEA and your local community.
