Could you be Maths Teacher of the Year?

E

We want to help find the UK's most inspiring Maths Teacher.

As part of our company commitment to inspire the next generation, EDF Energy is proud to be an award category sponsor of the TES Schools Awards 2017 for Maths Teacher or Team of the Year.

The winner will need to demonstrate how they inspire and excite children about studying maths.

As a company, we are passionate about engaging young minds with science and engineering. It's hugely important to us to have young people coming through the education system who share our passion for science, technology, engineering and maths subjects, and with a desire to build a career in the sector. We wish to publicly recognise the efforts of teachers who are also inspiring young people to study STEM subjects and follow STEM related careers.

Over the next decade the energy landscape of the UK will change significantly with older power stations coming to the end of their lives and a new generation of stations - including our planned new nuclear sites - coming on stream. We need to ensure that we excite young people now about the range of possibilities open to them when they complete their education, and show them the rewarding opportunities available in our industry.

Share the great work you're doing to inspire your students! Entries are open for submission online now, with entrants required to submit 500 words on why they deserve to win by midnight on Sunday 5 March 2017. The winners will be revealed at a gala awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London in June 2017.
