The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) is a national charity with a big mission: to save lives and reduce injuries.
It promotes safety and the prevention of accidents at every stage and in almost every area of life: home, road, work, leisure, education.
It does this through practical projects, free advice, resources and information, campaigning, lobbying and through safety education, training and consultancy.
From the campaign to stop drink driving, to the Cycling Proficiency Test and the more recent ban on handheld mobile phones behind the wheel, RoSPA has helped prevent millions of deaths and serious injuries. But with accidents killing more than 15,000 people across the UK each year, there’s still work to be done.
RoSPA has teamed up with the Pod to communicate these important messages to school children across the UK.
It will provide news, seasonal safety messages and resources. We will also work together to explore how we could facilitate children helping each other to prevent accidents, through the Pod’s Helping Hands campaign.
